First year course into fundamental introduction to mechanics. The course content includes the kinematic equations of motion, forces, angular motion and momentum.

In this course we will approach the topic of electromagnetism through detailed learning blocks in electricity and magnetism. At the end of this semester you will have developed the tools to formulate a foundational understanding of electromagnetic theory and its importance in the field of physics.

Application of python skills to solve for physics problems. The methodologies for solving problems include Monte Carlo routines, ODEs, Euler’s technique and Newton-Rhapson. Problems proposed include quantum probability, astronomical data management, Fourier optics, radioactive decay and multiple slit interference.
